Here are just some basics. Any questions, drop them in the drop box.
Aren't you going to tell me no crossing OOC, baby control, marriage control...all that other stuff? No, no we aren't. How many times have you heard it? A million? More? Of course you know the ins and outs of role-playing. We feel that if you break a commonly understood rule you should get a warning, if it happens again we reserve the right to remove you. Are you AIM or thread based? BOTH! You must have a AIM name and we encourage threading. We realize that this may be outside your comfort zone but give it a shot. We understand that you have probably made friends in the RP world and that's great! We totally get that, but we don't want people to feel left out so we do want people that aren't afraid to socialize. Part B of this is your screen name and journal name must relate to your character. Please for the love of all that is wonderful avoid using 'x' '_' and numbers in each of them. We understand that '_' sometimes is a divider but don't go overboard. How do you judge how active we are? Same as anyone else. You have one month to...; Update your journal! Third or first person, doesn't matter; just be sure to have at least 4 decent sized paragraphs. Also if we see that you've completed a full thread, that counts too. We realize it takes two or sometimes more to thread so if you see that your partner for the scene isn't replying we suggest you either start a new thread or update your journal. We feel a month is ample time to do so. What is this lottery thing? This is 100% optional. Every Friday of every week we will assign a random scening partner to you and although it's optional to participate in this activity, if you choose to partake it is not optional to do the scene. No one wants to feel left out. So if you know you are going to flake if the person isn't someone you know/like/whatever, all we ask is you do not join the lottery. Is that all? Lets just wrap things up with a few little things. We want you to be realistic! You don't have to ask for permission to do anything with your character, but we do ask that if you are going to do something against the grain, the norm, whatever ... know what you are talking about. Other than that have fun, be welcoming! This is really important. Reading the bitching and moaning about how unwelcoming communities are in rpvents shouldn't have to be going on. Everyone needs to be and feel welcomed! |
